Overview
The Award Winning LaZer2 Solar Tracker works as your primary heat source, and can be either your sole source of energy or work in conjunction with your existing boiler or immersion heater.
Our closed loop system contains water with non-toxic antifreeze for winter protection.
The system comprises of three main components:
LaZer2 Solar Tracker
The Solar Tracker combines highly efficient vacuum tubes that have a curved collecting surface, with sophisticated, computer-controlled technology to continuously maintain the solar collector’s alignment with the sun. This state-of-the art system can produce over twice the energy of a fixed panel system.
Inbuilt digital sensors take regular readings to accurately locate the brightest part of the sky, ensuring the collectors are placed to utilise the maximum amount of solar energy available at any given time.
Our 93% efficient vacuum tubes work independently of the ambient air temperature and are therefore ideal for cooler climates such as Britain’s.
Solar energy penetrates the glass and is absorbed by the specially selected coating on the collecting surface. Unlike Heat-pipe systems, the water passing through our advanced internal manifold is heated directly so that there is no energy lost.
Plumbing & Control System
The system is designed to be self-regulating, with built in safety controls to give you full peace of mind for minimum effort.
Digital sensors compare the temperature of the water in the panel with that in your hot water cylinder. When the panel is 3°C warmer than the cylinder, the solar pump is automatically switched on and the water circulates through the sealed system. If the temperature difference is below 3°C the pump is turned off to stop the water in your cylinder being cooled.
Solar-cylinder or Heat Exchanger
The option we recommend depends on your requirements.
Our specially designed Solar-cylinders contain a primary Solar-coil (with twice the surface area of a regular one to allow more efficient heat transfer), and a secondary coil for your original heat source. They also have double the insulation of a conventional cylinder so that heat-loss is minimised.
The modern, highly efficient heat exchangers we use fit neatly onto the side of your cylinder. This option is recommended if a replacement cylinder is not required.
