History

Solar UK, the retail division of Magpie Technologies Ltd, was formed to supply solar hot water systems to the UK and Europe. Magpie Technologies was initially set-up in 1982 and was involved in pioneering work within the IT & Telecoms industry. In 1998 Magpie divested itself of its software division, in order to concentrate on various research & development projects for a range of clients, These included the provision of power and clean water to developing countries and disaster areas.

Experience

The combination of developing new products for solar companies like Viessmann, coupled with the teams broad spectrum of expertise, provided all the skills required to design and manufacture affordable yet advanced solar hot water systems like the ‘award winning’ Solar Tracker and the LaZer2.

Position

A fully accredited manufacturer and installer, with hundreds of systems supplied, and an increasing number of commercial clients, SOLAR UK is now one of the largest suppliers of solar-vacuum systems in Britain. Manufacturing a range of cutting-edge solar products as well as providing consultancy to other solar organisations.

With continuous development of the technology required to improve energy usage, and the benefit of designing and manufacturing all of their own systems, the company will remain a leader in the solar industry.
